The 20th DIMF College Musical Festival

 

Daegu International Musical Festival (DIMF) holds  to contribute life changing chances for the students studying musical theatre. 

By providing chances for college students from all around the world to compete and build networks,  aims to nurture musical professionals and extend the field.

2026 Summer! The biggest international musical festival holds in the musical theme city Daegu!

DIMF is waiting for passionate college musical teams from anywhere in the world to join this amazing festival of next generation of the musical theatre!

 

 

Outline of the Program

 

◈ Title : The 20th DIMF Collage Musical Festival

 

◈ Date : During the festival <19th June (Fri) ~ 6th July (Mon), 2026> (Expected)

 

◈ Place : Main theatre venues in Daegu (venues assigned by DIMF)

 

 

Application

 

◈ Qualification : A college team consist of current students suggested by the dean of the school.

○ Multiple department from a single school participate is acceptable but individual participants are not permitted to join more than two teams.

○ A group joined by students from two different schools is not accepted.

For safety reasons, equipment staff could be graduates or students on a leave of absence. However, current students must participate as assistant staff.

E.g. If the lighting director is a graduate student, a current student must be assigned as a lighting staff.

○ Performers for the show are limited to be current students.

 

◈ Application Performances

○ Any ‘New’ or ‘Existing’ musical is acceptable. Musicals written by the current students are considered as ‘New’ musicals. Any others are considered ‘Existing’ musicals. ‘Gala’ is not acceptable.

※Participating shows must be free from copyright infringement, and the participating groups will be responsible for all the penalties from the breach. DIMF could request relevant materials such as Performance permission from the right holder, Document about the governing law in case of copyright conflict.

 

 

. Preliminary Round

 

◈ Evaluation Outline

○ Schedule: 1st April (Wed) ~ 20th April (Mon), 2026 (Expected) Confirmation to be made after consultation.

○ Place: A performance-capable venue specified by the participation organization (rehearsal rooms acceptable).

○ Method: At least one full act of live performance (gala concerts and highlight are not permitted).

○ Announcement of the Finalist: Late April (expected) / To be announced on the DIMF website and via individual contact.

※ The announcement schedule for finalists may be subject to change depending on the preliminary evaluation schedule.

 

◈ International Groups

○ Evaluated based on the submitted video recording file and the application form

 

◈ Required Materials : Followings will be requested by DIMF for the finalists as soon as the announcement is made

○ Headshots of the performers and the main staff for the official program book

- File name must be [role-name], only JPG file type is allowed

○ Detailed Information of the group and the show for the official program book

○ Poster and photos of performance (5 photos are required) for the official program book

○ Company List

○ Stage Plan : Light Design, Stage Design(Floor Plan, Technical Rider) - PDF or CAD

○ Banking Information: School/Bank Documents and Information

◈ Application Submission

○ Submission Period: 9th February (Mon) ~ 12th March (Thu) 2026 23:59KST

◈ Support

Venue Rental (A.C.), Financial Support, Management, Tickets, Marketing etc.

Theatre Venue Rental: Total 3.5 days (2 days for setup, 1 day for performance [2 shows], morning for set strike)

Nighttime or late-night rentals are not permitted.

○ Opportunities will be provided to attend DIMF’s official/side events and during DIMF Awards celebratory performance, a collaborative performance stage involving multiple collages is planned.

Please submit the following as PDF files: Theatre schedule, Stage design (Floor Plan, Technical Rider), Lighting and sound equipment list etc.

Submit the documents by the staff meeting after the venue has been confirmed.

All photo materials, including rehearsal and performance photos, must be submitted as high-quality files

Process of the Program

 

Note

◈ All submitted materials will be used for evaluation, please make sure all information provided is accurate and factual.

◈ Any materials submitted after the due date will not be accepted.

◈ All submitted materials, such as performance photos, synopses may be used for DIMF marketing purpose, including newspapers, broadcasts, leaflet, program books etc.

◈ Additional materials can be requested in case of need. In case of submitting inappropriate materials that affect the evaluation process negatively, there will be disadvantages.

◈ All copyright-related issues (script, music, stage design, direction etc.) and disputes are the responsibility of the participating collages.

◈ Due to Korean government policy, the DIMF collage musical festival period and direction may be subject to change.
