◆ Eligibility
- National Competition
is open to those aged 9-24 (born after JAN 1, 2002 & before DEC 31, 2017) participating
as individuals or groups of less than 10 students through their school, college, university, or youth group
and those must be Korean nationals.
※ Participation restrictions
- Who has appeared in commercial musicals after graduation from high school.
- Who won ‘Grand Prize’ or ‘Most Outstanding Prize’ of all-time DIMF MusicalStar
- Participation as both an individual and a team is not allowed.
- Global Competition
is open to those aged the same as the National Competition with foreign nationalities and those must reside countries other than Korea.
※ Airfare and accommodation shall be provided for the 3rd round and the finalists.
※ Subject to change depending on government policies.

- 3rd Round at Daeduk Cultural Center(478, Apsansunhwan-ro, Nam-gu, Daegu)
- Final Round at Ayang Arts Center(24, Hyodong-ro 2-gil, Dong-gu, Daegu)
※ Competition for Chinese / North America applicants will be announced separately
◆ Outline
- A video consists of a musical performance that shows a musical song and acting within 5 minutes.
- Judgment will be conducted in various fields such as singing ability, acting (dialog),
expressive power (choreography), work interpretation ability, development potential, etc.
- Musical number must vary for each round (Allowed to use the same song in Rounds 1 and 2)
- The entire process of the DIMF MusicalStar competition will be filmed for the TV program of its own contents.

How to Apply
|
* Applicants must submit the application during the submission period and send the recorded video via email.
1. Go to DIMF official website (http://www.dimf.or.kr)
2. Find the category ‘Musical Star – Apply’
3. Click the box ‘Submission (Foreigners)’
4. Fill out and save the application form completely
5. Send your performance video to the address: dimfstar@dimf.or.kr
1) Application (www.dimf.or.kr)
- All items must be filled out when filling out the application form.
※ Application form can be modified during the submission period, and no modification is allowed after the deadline.
※ For duet/group teams, the application form for team members should be attached separately in addition to the application form on the website. (Team member application form can be downloaded on the notice board.)
- Attach a profile photo that clearly shows the applicant's face.
- Inst. track must be an official file that does not infringe copyright
※ Disadvantages may occur if the sound source is illegal.
2) Submission (dimfstar@dimf.or.kr)
- The title of the email and video should be following as below: FULL NAME-PRODUCTION TITLE-NUMBER TITLE
e.g. ‘DAEGU KIM-Musical Turandot-Following the Light’
※ If you submit duplicate videos, you may be at a disadvantage.

Guideline

To do
|
1) Video with full body
- Take at a place where the applicant's face can be identified
- No shooting in dark places, in places with echoes, or in noisy places is recommended
2) A video should begin with self-introduction
(e.g. ‘Hi, my name is Kim’)
- The video should be within 5 minutes
3) Only applicants should be in the video
4) No editing is allowed (one-take video only)
- No audio correction is allowed
5) Submit the same performance video as the song written on the application
6) Use an instrumental track, backing track, MMO, etc.
- The singing voice should be louder than the music

Not to do
|
- Emails received after the deadline (MAR 23th at 23:59 (KST)) cannot be accepted.
- If you submit duplicate videos, you may be at a disadvantage.
- No illegally arranged music that infringes on the copyright and personal rights of the creator is allowed.

- For those who have qualified for the 2nd Round, further information will be notified separately.
- Matters not specified in this guideline are subject to the organizer's decision.
