Introduction to
The 18th DIMF College Musical Festival
Daegu International Musical Festival (DIMF) holds
to contribute life changing chances for the students studying musical theatre.
By providing chances for college students from all around the world to compete and build networks,
aims to nurture musical professionals and extend the field.
2024 Summer!
The biggest international musical festival holds in the musical theme city Daegu!
DIMF is waiting for passionate college musical teams from anywhere in the world to join this amazing festival of next generation of the musical theatre!
Ⅰ. Purpose of the program
◈ Discover and Support future leaders of the Musical Theatre
◈ Contribute to the advancement of students from the musical theatre department by offering stage experience and competition
◈ Offer a chance of exchanging talents among college students from all around the world
Ⅱ. Outline of the program
◈ Title : The 18th DIMF College Musical Festival
◈ Date : during the festival <21st June (Fri) ~ 7th July (Sun), 2024>
◈ Place : Main venues in Daegu city (DIMF will officially assign a venue for each team)
Ⅲ. Process of the Program
Ⅳ. Application
◈ Application Period : <5th February (Mon) ~ 15th March (Fri), 2024>
◈ Qualification : A college team consist of current students suggested by the dean of the school.
※Graduates and postgraduates are not accepted
※In case of students on a leave of absence, only those who never participated in any professional production are acceptable
○ Performers for the show are limited to be current students.
○ Any ‘New’ or ‘Existing’ musical is acceptable. Musicals written by the current students are considered as ‘New’ musicals. Any others are considered ‘Existing’ musicals. ‘Gala’ is not acceptable.
(※ Participating shows must be free from infringement of copyright, and the participating groups will be responsible for all the penalties from the breach. DIMF could request relevant materials such as Performance permission from the right holder, Document about the governing law in case of copyright conflict.)
○ Activity groups in schools which officially don’t belong to the musical theatre department are allowed to participate only with the recommendation of the principle of the relevant department.
○ A group joined by students from two different schools is not accepted.
◈ Application Material (International Groups)
○ A full video recording file of the show
○ An application form (*please find the attached / please provide your information in English.)

Ⅴ. Preliminary Round
◈ Domestic Groups
○ For evaluation, the applying teams will perform a part of their show with a full stage set with costume and etc. for the judges at a place that the team has chosen to perform
◈ International Groups
○ Evaluated based on the submitted video recording file and the application form
◈ Announcement of the finalist : April(expected) / official website and personal contact
Ⅵ. Final Round
◈ Required Materials
Followings will be requested by DIMF for the finalists as soon as the announcement is made
○ Headshots of the performers and the main staff for the official program book
- File name must be [role-name], only JPG file type is allowed
○ Detailed Information of the group and the show for the official program book
○ Poster and photos of performance (5 photos are required) for the official program book
○ Company List
○ Stage Plan : Light Design, Stage Design(Floor Plan, Technical Rider) - PDF or CAD
○ Banking Information: School/Bank Documents and Information

◈ Support
Followings will be supported by DIMF for the finalist
: Financial Fund, Venue rental, Marketing, Theatre management

◈ Evaluation
○ Evaluated by actual performances during the festival

- Performing Dates: Each team will be assigned three and half days during the festival for setup, performance and strike as below. Exact dates will be decided by DIMF under discussion with each team.

※ In case appropriate winners don’t exist for each category, no prize could be granted.
※ To provide the prize money, relevant documents will be requested to the winners

Ⅷ. Note
◈ All submitted materials should be based on the fact for it will be used directly for the evaluation.
◈ Any document submitted after the due date will not be accepted.
◈ Submitted materials will not be returned.
◈ All submitted materials can be used for DIMF marketing.
◈ Additional materials can be requested in case of need. In case of submitting inappropriate materials that affect the evaluation process negatively, there will be disadvantages.
